Definitions Related to Religions and Secret Societies
666 |
Commonly known as the "number of the beast" or the "antichrist." The most prominent occurrence of this number is found in the New Testament, where Revelation 13:16-18 states "… Also it causes all, both small and great, both rich and poor, both free and slave, to be marked on the right hand or the forehead, so that no one can buy or sell who does not have the mark, that is, the name of the beast or the number of his name. This calls for wisdom: let him who hath understanding reckon the number of the beast, for it is a human number. Its number is six threescore six…" The meaning of this number is far different than most people think. Actually it's not even the correct number. It is now known that the correct translation of the Biblical text is the number 616, which in Hebrew numerology (gematria) converts to Nero Cesar's name in Latin (Nero Iulius Caesar Germanicus). You could say that the main enemy (satan) of the Hebrews in those days was the Roman Emperor. |
Amen |
This word derives from ancient Egyptian "amun" meaning "hidden." In ancient Egypt Amun was one of the most powerful gods. At the height of Egyptian civilization he was called the "King of the Gods." Amun was important throughout the history of ancient Egypt. However, Amun later was combined with the sun god Ra was and became even more powerful. He was then called Amun-Ra. Amun was represented as the man with a ram-head, or a ram, or man wearing an ostrich plumed hat. |
Bible code |
The word bible derives from Greek "biblia" meaning "books." Therefore, the Bible is a collection of spiritual books. Some people have theorized that there is a numerical code hidden in the Bible (mostly the Old Testament), which has come to be known as the Bible Code, that predicts the future. Believers in the Bible Code claim that certain paragraphs predicted Hitler, Stalin, and many other madmen. How much of it is true? Some critics say those who have "found predictions" of Hitler and others are reading into the findings what they want to see – there really is no evidence of "prediction." People living 2000+ years ago had no idea of the coming of World War II, or the Vietnam War, or the Korean War. If there is a hidden code, then we need to analyze all the books comprising the Bible. This is literally impossible since many religious texts were destroyed by Christian and Islamic fanatics who wanted to ensure that their version of the "truth" was the one the world read. At the same time religious institutions would have to legalize the Apocryphas (forbidden texts) which were systematically tracked down and destroyed from the time the Roman Emperor Constantine I (Gaius Flavius Valerius Aurelius Constantinus) died in AD 337. Some were also "banned" by the Councils of Nicea, which met in AD 325 and a second, lesser-known meeting occurred in AD 787. Nicea is currently known as Iznik and is located in present-day Turkey. |
Eliohim |
In Hebrew means "gods" or "angels." It never symbolized monotheistic beliefs. |
Esoteric |
It's an adjective originating in Hellenic Greece; it comes from the Greek "esōterikos," from "esōtero." the comparative form of "esō" which means "within." Esoteric refers to anything that is inner. Its antonym is "exoteric," from the Greek "eksōterikos," from "eksōtero," the comparative form of "eksō" meaning "outside." |
Gnostic |
This word derives from Greek " gnōsis" meaning "knowledge." Therefore a Gnostic is a person who believes in "higher spiritual knowledge." The term is also used to describe esoteric sects that emerged in the early Christian centuries and which were regarded by Orthodox Church fathers like Iranaeus as heretical. |
Hell |
The English word "hell" comes from the Teutonic " Hel," which originally meant "to cover." In Christianity/Islam it's interpreted as a horrific place of torture where sinful people go. Actually, the correct translation is "a state of being where there is no god." This word should not be confused with Sheol from Judaism which denotes "abode of the dead" or the "underworld." In the Hebrew text of Tanakh this is portrayed as a comfortless place beneath the earth, beyond gates, where both the bad and the good, slave and king, pious and wicked, must go after death to sleep in silence and oblivion in the dust. |
Lucifer |
In Latin means "light-bearer" (from lux, "light," and ferre, "to bear, bring"), and in Roman astrology is the name for the Morning Star – Venus. Legends of a light-bearer or falling-stars are common throughout the myths of the ancient world. An example of a falling-star behavior in our current times would be a promising leader who is disgraced in corruption scandals. |
Occult |
From Latin "occultus" means "clandestine, hidden, secret." This word is usually used in describing secret knowledge. |
Religion |
From Latin "religio" means "fear of the unknown." |
Pentagram |
Comes from the Greek word "pentagrammon" meaning "five lined" or "five lines." Therefore a pentagram is a five-pointed star drawn with five straight strokes. The pentagram was symbolically used in ancient Greece and Babylonia, and is a pagan symbol associated with the planet Venus - the worship of the goddess Venus. In Wicca it explains the reference to the neo-Pythagorean understanding that the five vertices of the pentagram represent the four elements (water, earth, air and fire) with the addition of Spirit as the uppermost point. The Pythagoreans called the pentagram Hygieia ("health" also the Greek goddess of health, Hygieia), and saw in the pentagram a mathematical perfection. The early Christians used the pentagram is a symbol of the five senses. Also, when the letters S, A, L, V, and S are inscribed in the points, the pentagram is a symbol of health (Latin "salūs"). The pentagram appears on the shield of Sir Gawain in the 14th century poem, Sir Gawain and the Green Knight. In the poem the five lines of the star are given multiple meanings: they represent the five senses, five fingers, the five wounds of Christ, the five joys that Mary had of Jesus (the Annunciation, the Nativity, the Resurrection, the Ascension and the Assumption), and the five virtues of knighthood which Gawain hopes to embody: frankness, fellowship, purity, courtesy and compassion. It's quite an irony that later Christianity changed its meaning into a satanic symbol. |
Satan |
This is a Hebrew word meaning "an enemy." |
Sin |
This word derives from the Greek word "hermatia" meaning "missing target" or "to miss the mark." When the Roman Emperor Constantine I died and Christianity became the official religion of the Roman Empire, hermatia became "sino" which in Latin means "guilty." It was translated into English as "sin" (Middle English "sinne," from Old English "synn"). In Islam sin is an act and not a state of being. Abrahamic religions have exaggerated the meaning of "simple mistakes." You don't humiliate your child for a simple mistake. In ancient history Sin (also known as Nannar - son of Enlil) is also the Babylonian god of the Moon. |
Swastika |
From Sanskrit "svastika," is a holy symbol in Hinduism, Jainism and Buddhism. It is the Universal mythic symbol, consisting of an equal-armed cross with four ‘arms’ that are bent at each end at a 90-degree angle, and which appear to rotate in the same direction. Regarded by many as the "sun-wheel," the swastika represents eternal movement and spiritual renewal. The most commonly used one is the clockwise version representing "movement toward God" and suggests a cosmic rhythm in tune with the Universe. During World War II, the SS/Nazis (Germany, 1933-1945) adopted a swastika facing counterclockwise and tilted at 45°, representing "movement away from God." It has become a contemporary motif for crimes against humanity.
The swastika shape was also used by some Native Americans. It has been found in excavations of Mississippian-era sites in the Ohio valley. It was widely used by many southwestern tribes, most notably the Navajo. Among different tribes the swastika carries various meanings. To the Hopi it represents the wandering Hopi clan; to the Navajo it was one symbol for a whirling log (tsil no'oli'), a sacred image representing a legend that was used in healing rituals.
A swastika shape is also an ancient symbol in the culture of the Kuna people of Kuna Yala, Panama. That symbol is a horizontal flip of the clockwise version. In Kuna tradition it symbolizes the octopus, which created the world; its tentacles, pointing to the four cardinal points, gave rise to the rainbow, the sun, the moon and the stars.
To this day, some people demonize the use of the swastika because
of World War II's mass genocide memories. Unfortunately, most people
don't know the visual difference between the "holy symbol"
and the Nazi version. Actually, most people in western societies
don't even know that the swastika is an ancient symbol. But one
thing that needs to be understood is that the Nazis perverted a
symbol considered holy by many people, and the original symbol has
no connection to the Nazi philosophy. |
So, now that we have a basic introduction to and understand of the meaning of some relevant words, let's continue with Enlightenment.
As previously stated, spiritual secret societies have existed from the moment man-made religions were created. Some are connected to religious organizations, but most are separate. In some parts of Europe they are known as occult sects, while in most parts of the globe they are referred to as esoteric sects. For unknown reasons, in most Anglo countries the generic term "Illuminati" is used. An interesting observation is that most of the conspiracy theories about the Illuminati come from Anglo countries such as America, Australia, the U.K. and Canada. Why are the esoteric sects in these countries not trusted? Do people in these countries suffer from paranoia?
Now, it is true that in 1776 an esoteric sect in Bavaria adopted the word Illuminati, but they only existed until 1784. Ironically, it was founded by a Jesuit professor named Adam Weishaupt. According to conspiracy theorists, the same Bavarian Illuminati group didn't really disappear, but went underground because they were performing satanic rituals and praying to the pentagram. If we exclude the word Bavarian from our translation, then this literally means that the "enlightened people are performing pagan rituals and worshiping the symbol of woman - planet Venus." To expand on the conspiracy, these Illumaniti members supposedly have high-level positions in the corporate world and governments. What's wrong with this picture? We need to ask ourselves – who benefits from this? And how could these people control the world.
